Job: Junior Desktop Technician

We are looking for a Junior Desktop Technician to work with us onsite in our waterfront studio in Rhodes, Sydney. Working with a complex array of technologies on an amazing slate of video game cinematics, VR and film projects, this is an entry-level opportunity like no other.

  • Assist the IT/Systems Administration department with their tasks

  • Assist in installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solve technical and application issues

  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks as required

  • Render farm maintenance and upkeep

  • Render wrangling, as necessary

  • Support in the maintenance of systems administration and IT services to all staff

  • Provide physical support for the movement of equipment and facilities around the studio and office

  • Occasional after hours and weekend support

  • Engage with management and production

  • Report to the IT/Systems Manager


  • Passionate for learning new skills and broadening your knowledge of technologies

  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of administration and maintenance of Windows operating systems

  • Experience building a gaming computer

  • Enthusiastic, personable, motivated and passionate about technology

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes

  • Manual dexterity

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve

  • Good judgement and decision-making skills

  • Positive and proactive

  • Calm disposition with the ability to thrive within a team environment

  • Current driver’s license and car

  • Must have the right to work in Australia


  • Ability to identify, assemble and coordinate digital media and IT systems

  • Knowledge of software/hardware technology used in the production of digital media

  • Experience in a similar role

  • Experience with 3D animation/vfx pipeline

  • Experience in supporting complex Networking environments

  • Qualifications in IT, Electronics, Engineering and/or Media Production

  • Ability to operate autonomously with a strong sense of personal responsibility for task completion

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
