Job: Senior Character Artist

We’re looking for a highly skilled and well experienced Senior Character Artist to join us in our waterfront studio in Rhodes, Sydney to work on our amazing slate of projects, including a high profile children’s tv show for a major network.

Sydney Based Artists will have first preference 



  • Use artistic and technical skills to work on Characters and Assets
  • Create photo-realistic as well as stylized characters, other organic matter and also hard surface assets
  • Assist in defining the overall look and feel of a wide variety of characters and props
  • Show initiative, push ideas and innovate within your duties
  • Be aware of project/task schedules and be capable of delivering work to deadlines
  • Guide and mentor less experienced artists
  • Use Shotgun
  • Engage with our Asset Head of Department, Creative Director, Art Director and Producers

Job requirements:

  • 8yrs+ experience working on feature films, episodic tv shows and/or AAA+ game cinematics
  • Extensive experience working with modeling/sculpting tools to achieve photorealistic as well as stylized characters, other organic matter and also hard surface assets
  • Excellent eye for form, shape language, and PBR materials
  • Strong sense of design as well as the ability to execute high-quality art
  • Expert using Z-Brush, Substance Designer, Photoshop, Mari, 3DSMax or Maya
  • Ability to take direction and work well within a team focused environment 
  • Very strong understanding of real world materials is essential and must be demonstrated in your portfolio/reel
  • Guide and mentor less experienced artists
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate time requirements
  • Positive, pro-active and excellent communication skills


  • Experience leading a team 
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Ability to light and render 3D objects in Redshift
  • A traditional arts background with emphasis on sculpting and/or photo-realistic work
  • TD skills
