Plastic Wax uses a 16 camera Vicon MX40 system, which is the most advanced optical motion capture system available. With the MX40 cameras having a 4 Mega Pixel image sensor and up to 370fps any motion capture requirement is achievable, this includes demanding task of facial and hand performance capture. Add to this a propriatory retargeting system and we are able to transfer the performance data from the capture session so that it can be used on any type of character imaginable, from cartoon to realistic. Additionally. we have developed a facial capture system that can deliver uncanny reality or, using our retargeting system (X-target), wildly exaggerated toony performances.
