UNREAL ENGINE ANIMATION
Since its inception we have lived and breathed Unreal Engine. The benefits which Unreal’s efficiencies, flexibility, and immediacy brings to a series production cannot be overstated.
We have established a robust and refined pipeline for series production in Unreal, having developed numerous tools within Unreal to improve efficiency and optimisation.
Our pipeline has been developed to work agnostically and seamlessly across realtime and
pre-rendered workflows. Our tools work across both, and perhaps more importantly, so can
our team. It’s why we have been able to achieve the ‘pre-rendered’ high quality, fine detail
and artistry inside the Unreal game engine.
NOTABLE PROJECTS INCLUDE:

Remote Directed by Jerry O'Flaherty and Shrapnel's CEO Mark Long, the Shrapnel trailer was a single-shot camera view that combined Plastic Wax's mocap facilities with the expert application of Unreal.
Thanks to our virtual production services we were able to produce the trailer in
record time with non-stop stunt work and action, epic set pieces, destruction
and visceral combat - all captured in RealTime.
BEHIND THE SCENES

Celebrated as the biggest Harry Potter game launch of all time, Hogwarts Legacy was one of the best-selling games of 2023. Using Unreal Engine, Plastic Wax had the wonderful opportunity to create both the Official Reveal Trailer and the Cinematic Trailers, bringing the world of Hogwarts to life for the next generation of players.

In collaboration with NBCUniversal, Epic Games (Fortnite) and director Rick Famuyiwa
(director of The Mandalorian), Plastic Wax were tasked with reimagining the classic
Universal Monsters - Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Wolfman and Mummy,
made more contemporary and inclusive in the mini series "We Will Be Monsters".
Captured during covid with Remote Directing, this was a landmark in collaborative film making.
